After some warm days last week, nature is exploding and fresh green leaves are visible everywhere .....spring has arrived definitely! The flower part of my garden is transforming day by day and at the moment the Sweet Violets are the boss.....not for long as the bluebells are growing very fast. In a few days the wood will coloured white by the Wood Anemones and very soon I expect the first emerged butterflies.....I can't wait to welcome them! Today it was my first day of to study and I was very happy that it started snowing early in the morning. I went out and searched for some colour and I was really surprised that I found a flowering Sweet Violet (Viola odorata); normally they are flowering in March.
Unfortunately within two hours the snow passed over into rain and the beautiful white world transformed into grey again. Time to open my study books again! As I received some questions about my internet absence, I return here much earlier than I had planned. I was in hospital for an operation (although I tried to convince the surgeon that I would like to keep my organ, he had no mercy with me!) and I did not know how long recovery does take. Fortunately I’m on my way back! In the meantime I met the first butterflies, a Brimstone (Gonepteryx rhamni) and a Small Tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae) and I was also able to take some photos of flowering Violets (Viola odorata). Well, when I landed back on earth in hospital on the recovery department, the first thing I noticed was music ....... I heard Billy Joel’s song ‘Piano Man’. What a beautiful song to start with ....... I couldn’t move at all but my ears and brains enjoyed this song and I decided that this will be my song for 2012!
