Scolitantides orion - Chequered Blue - Vetkruidblauwtje - Fetthennen Bläuling
The upperside of both sexes generally appear sooty brown or black with some blue on the forewing. Both wings have a line of greyish-blue lunules, although these are often partly obscured by dark scales in the female, and a large dark spot is usually visible at the end of the cell inn the forewing. The undersides are dirty white with large spots and a bright orange band on the hindwing. Flight from April to August in one or two broods. The larval foodplants are various stonecrop species. The habitat are dry, stony hillsides and coastal cliffs from sealevel to about 1000 m.
