Chapels - Mariakapellen - Kapellen
In my blog (November 2011) I wrote before that I’m fascinated by the atmosphere of religious buildings. In the Netherlands a lot of chapels are built and last autumn I started photographing them. As I don’t wont to bore you, I show photo’s of 7 chapels which I photographed in 2011 and this will be my only chapter which has nothing to do with nature photography.
In every chapel I lighed (and still ligh as I return regularly) one or more candles for the beloved people I lost in my life. Losing people is part of life and every loss is an opportunity for something/somebody new. During my visits to the chapels I met some people. One man told me a lot about his life and I was triggered to do something with this information and so the idea was born to write a book about life-stories.
On one of the photo’s there is a person visible, it’s Piet, nearly blind but full of life and humour.
