The male upperside is almost entirely white, with black wingtips and a narrow black border at the front of the forewing. The female is similar but the forewing has two large black spots in the centre and a black streak on the rear edge. The undersides of both sexes have two black spots on the forewing, while the hindwing is largely cream with a variable amount of black dusting. Flight from April to October in two or three broods. The larval foodplants are mainly cultivated brassicas.
