Polyommatus bellargus - Adonis Blue - Adonisblauwtje - Himmelblauer Bläuling
The male upperside is brilliant sky-blue. The female is brown often dusted with blue near the base. There are orange-red submarginal lunules on the hindwing, with black spots and blue scales beyond them. Both sexes have stronly chequered white fringes. The undersides are greyish brown with a hint of blue near the base of the hindwing. There are orange busmarginal lunules on both wings and a white wedge in the outer part of the hindwing. Flight from May to September in two broods in warm, well-drained slopes. The larval foodplant is Horseshoe Vetch as well as Crown Vetch and other log-growing leguminous plants.
