Coenonympha glycerion - Chestnut Heath - Roodstreephooibeestje - Rotbraunes Wiesenvögelchen
The uppersides, never seen at rest, are dark brown (male) and orange with an brown submarginal band (female). The underside of the forewing is orange with a greyish patch and outer border and the female also has a small eye-spot. The underside of the hindwing is greyish brown with an arc of yellow-ringed eye-spots and sometimes a few small white marks near the middle. Flight from May to August in more broods. The habitat are grasslands and moorlands from sealevel to 2000m. The larval foodplants are various grasses.
