Butterflies in the Vosges
In 2017 I bought a house in France with 4000m2 land in the forest of the Vosges region. A large part of the land is water and surrounded by some trees. A perfect habitat for a lot of animals like fishes, birds and snakes. The path next to my house is overgrown by brambles. In June (when the brambles are flowering) this path attracts a lot of butterflies.
Because of its open and wet character the place is attractive (also for breeding) to a lot of butterfly species; until now I counted 38 species. A few hundred meters away, I visit regularly a wild meadow in which I find other butterfly species.
