Lycaena virgaureae - Scarce Copper - Morgenrood - Dukatenfalter
The male upperside is orange/red with sooty brown margins; dark spots are near the border of the hindwing. The female upperside is orange but less than the male and with several large spots on both wings. The hindwing is dusted with brown scales and sooty orange. The underside of the forwing is orange with black spots for both sexes. The underside of the hindwing is orange often a bit greenish/yellowish with lager white and black spots in an arc. Flight from June to September in flowery grassland from sea level up to 2000 metres. The larval foodplants are Docks and Sorrels.
