The last emperor
What a beautiful autumn weather we have in the Netherlands this year. Every minute that the sun is shining I'm outside and enjoy the little creatures which I see. Today I visited a forest with a lot of oaks and beeches and I saw a lot of ladybugs. Two days ago I was pleased to see and photograph a Red Admiral (which is in fact a migrating butterfly). This will probably my last taken butterfly picture of 2011....it's a kind of farewell but I'm also looking forward what 2012 will bring as the 'emperors' will return in spring.
A few weeks ago I looked for butterflies on Balsamine, unfortunately without any result and a few days later the flower-buds had faded. Today I searched for a certain photo on my external hard disk when I found out that in 2008 I made a lot of photos which I had forgotten. I was surprised to find photos of Balsamine with various Whites on it....here is one with a Green-veined White:
Every season has its charme but nothing can touch the colours of autumn. One week ago I walked in the forest hoping to find some special mushrooms but unfortunately nothing much was there until I found one single leaf which was not brown.
