Although, I visited the magnificent Cathedral of Aachen some days ago, this year I will not finish with a religious image but with beautiful music. Listening to Ludovico Einaudi's 'Fuori dalla notte' and 'Nefeli', I look back at 2014. From my point of view, 2014 was a great year! I met nice and interesting people, had great trips to beautiful nature area's, had a lot of fun and learned a lot. 2014 was also a year with great losses in the world due to wars and strokes.....only a few days ago a lot of children were killed and to me it seems that other (meaningless) things overruled this tragic news. When I was in Aachen, I noticed some very poor people, some of them were begging in the cold, but they got no attention from the shopping crowd. Seeing this poor people and seeing lots of people bying many big expensive boxes of playmobil was a sharp contrast! I wish you all a lovely & peaceful Christmas and the very best for 2015! Enjoy life, cherish your beloved ones, live your dream and.....do not forget/ignore the people who need help! Merry Christmas - Prettige kerstdagen - Frohe Weihnachten - I will be back in 2015. A few hours after I published my former blog, from my couch I noticed very beautiful colours in the dark sky. It was full moon and between the clouds the sky was coloured orange. Quickly I wake up my camera from the holiday mode and went outside. I used live view as without it was almost impossible to see the moon sharp behind the moving clouds. Too quickly (that's how it felt) the moon transformed from orange into white and with some photos I returned back to my couch.  Blood Moon - Canon 7D, tripod, remote release, 350 mm, 1.6 sec, F5.6, ISO100 Some tiresome and enervating weeks are behind me with the result that my camera has a kind of holiday. This is the last photo which I took one morning when the hazelwood still had yellow leaves......some weeks ago. This week, for the first time it was freezing a little bit but not enough to transform nature into a winter fairy-tale. I yearn for my Christmas vacation in two weeks and that we will have real winter with a lot of snow and freezing temperatures!
