As I received some questions about my internet absence, I return here much earlier than I had planned. I was in hospital for an operation (although I tried to convince the surgeon that I would like to keep my organ, he had no mercy with me!) and I did not know how long recovery does take. Fortunately I’m on my way back! In the meantime I met the first butterflies, a Brimstone (Gonepteryx rhamni) and a Small Tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae) and I was also able to take some photos of flowering Violets (Viola odorata). Springtime definitely arrived in the Netherlands. Canon 7D; beanbag; remote release; 180 mm, 1/125s at F3.5 and ISO100 Maybe you started wondering why this blog is titled ‘piano man’. Well, when I landed back on earth in hospital on the recovery department, the first thing I noticed was music ....... I heard Billy Joel’s song ‘Piano Man’. What a beautiful song to start with ....... I couldn’t move at all but my ears and brains enjoyed this song and I decided that this will be my song for 2012! Sing us a song tonight Well, we're all in the mood for a melody And you've got us feelin' alright Yeah, I feel alright and my intuition tells me that 2012 will be great with a lot of beautiful nature moments, study and business plans, short trips and journeys through Europe and meetings with new people ........ maybe the piano man! Today is a special day: an extra day! And on this leap day (which is the last one I will be online) I found a flower with a beautiful heart. Although it's grey outside it feels like the sun is shining! Canon 7D; tripod; remote release; MP-E 65 mm, 0,3s at F3.5 and ISO100
Canon 7D; tripod; remote release; 180 mm, 1/30s at F3.5 and ISO100 This picture is taken one day before winter arrived. A few days later I looked for these two Snowdrops but unfortunately they were 'snowed' under. Winter is gone now and it's time for the 'new' life to come.
As I'm very busy with other things (see chapter Workshops) at the moment, I will be not able to post weekly here. Probably I will be online again in a few weeks and I hope that by that time I would have seen my first butterfly of 2012. will usually go no further than the crowd. The woman who walks alone is likely to find herself in places no one has ever been before. Albert Einstein was a wise man! Canon 7D; tripod; remote release; 180 mm, 1/25s at F3.5 and ISO100 Two weeks ago, I discovered in the city a public garden full of crocuses; due to the warm weather the flowers were out but not flowering. I doubted whether I should photograph them as they were growing in front of a supermarket. I didn’t like the thought photographing between people who are doing their shopping’s. But, yesterday I faced my doubts, said ‘hello’ to a lot of people and explained the asking children what I was doing. The real challenge were not the passing people but to avoid lying down in dogshit or touching it......the amount of dogshit between the lovely crocuses was disgusting!
