Erebia medusa - Woodland Ringlet - Voorjaarserebia - Rundaugen-Mohrenfalter
The male upperside is dark brown and the forewing has up to five pupillate eye-spots on an orange post-discal band. The second and third eye-spots are usually linked together. The hindwing has five eye-spots, each ringed with orange. Females are paler than males, with yellower and slightly more extensive markings. The underside is virtually identical to the upperside in both sexes. Flight from May to July in moorlands, bogs, damp grassland and open woodland. The larval foodplant are a wide range of grasses.
