Lycaena phlaeas - Small Copper - Kleine vuurvlinder - Kleiner Feuerfalter
The upperside of the forewing is a gleaming coppery red or orange with a sooty-brown outer margin. The cell contains two conspicuous black spots and there is an irregular row of seven spots. The upperside of the hindwing is brown with an orange submarginal band, and there is sometimes a row of shiny blue spots just inside this band. The underside of the forewing resembles the upperside, although the orangs is less intense. THe underside of the hindwing is pale brown or grey with small black spots and a faint red ora orange marginal line. The male forewings are slightly more pointed than those of the female, but otherwise the sexes are alike. Flight from April to October in more broods. The larval foodplants are sorrels and docks.
