Lycaena tityrus - Sooty Copper - Bruine vuurvlinder - Brauner Feuerfalter
The male upperside is sooty brown, with withe fringes and variably developed orange submarginal lunules. The hindwing is sharply angled at the rear. The female's forewing is orange with black or sooty-brown spots and her hindwing is more rounded than that of the male which is brown with a band of orange lunule containing black spots. The undersides of both sexes are yellowish grey with black spots although the forewing may be flushed with orange, especially in the female. Flight April to October. The larval foodsplants are docks and sorrels.
