Ochlodes sylvanus - Large Skipper - Groot dikkopje - Rostfarbiger Dickkopffalter
The male upperside is bright orange-brown, becoming browner towards the outer margins and studded with orange spots near the tip. Thers is a large black scent-brand in the centre of the forewing. The female trends to be a little darker than the male and more obviously spotted. The underside of the forewing is orange, while that of the hindwing is greenish yellow, both wings having faint yellow spotes. Flight from May to September in one or two broods. The larval foodsplants are a range of broad-leaved grasses.
