Sleeping Beauty
Sometimes it happens that I found an old car which is not a rusty car wreck......I call them Sleeping Beauties!
Citroen 2CV: In the Ardeche, on the day of arrival, I passed a barn and saw it’s door only for a fraction of a second but my intuition told me that it was hiding something. A few days later I returned to this place but as I couldn’t open the door or look through it, I held my camera up and made some autofocus-flash-photos. In France a lot of 'nostalgic' cars and car wrecks can be found.
Citroen Traction Avant: This very beautiful and nostalgic car was sleeping in a barn in the Dordogne.
Rochet Schneider: This car/truck is something between Rust in Peace and Sleeping Beauty....I found this little truck in 2011 in the Dordogne, well hidden under a shelter of a courtyard. I had to use my tele lens. Rochet-Schneider was a French company that produced automobiles during the early 20th century. From the mid-1920s onwards the company concentrated on commercial vehicles, until 1932. Rochet-Schneider was bought by Berliet and in 1951 the name Rochet-Schneider disappeared.
