Hungary
Since a long time, a visit to Farm Lator in Hungary was on my 'Bucket List' and finally in 2014 together with 8 other nature photographers, I visited the Bükk Mountains and its beautiful inhabitants. In Hungary the sun rises early and as it costs a 20 minutes drive to the hot spots in the Bükk Mountains, my alarm clock went off between 03.30 and 03.50 every morning. But every early wake up was worth it! In one week time, I found 53 butterfly species and day by day more butterflies emerged due to the summer temperatures. Some high-lights were: Clouded Apollo, Twin-spot Fritillary, Cardinal, Large Copper, Purple Emperor, the variety of melitaea and brentis species and the other (little) wildlife like beetles and snakes. A small impression of my trip:
