Between some dark clouds, last Sunday I catched a glimpse of sunlight....since then I havn't seen the sun again till today. It was grey, grey and grey.
After a cold night the dew caused some nice reflections and I tried one of my old Meyer Optik lenses which 'creates' circles/flare patterns. The big disadventage of this lens is the lack of sharpness.
I did not process/change this image in photoshop. As I could'nt see the butterfly sharp (in liveview) I changed the lens and used my faithful Tamron.
Not exactly the same focal distance and not the same flare pattern but a sharp butterfly! I like the flare pattern of the first image but in my opinion it is too much present an tooks too much attention. In the second photo the subject is the butterfly.
As the flare pattern of the old Meyer lenses became a hype the prices of the old triplet lenses became sky-high with the result that Meyer Optik (the ones who bought the rights) will bring back to life the old Trioplan 2.8/100. The new lens is scheduled for February 2016 and a price of 1499 Euro. My old Meyer lens cost me 40 Euro.....I think I like the lack of sharpness ;-).
